More information:If you are new to handcrafted soaps, you are in for a moisturizing treat! However, just as the glycerin in natural handmade soaps attracts moisture to your skin, it also attracts moisture to the bar of soap. Your hand crafted soap is prone to becoming soft if it sits in a pool of water or does not dry between uses. Allowing your handmade soap to dry between uses will extend its life considerably (and will keep it from turning to mush!) These self-draining hardwood dishes not only provide the drainage and air circulation that your soap needs, but they also complement the rustic beauty of your new soap.
We are happy to announce that we have switched suppliers, and our new dishes are handcrafted in the USA from a variety of woods. Dishes vary in color, from light to dark, and so will not always look exactly like the ones pictured here. The dish you purchase is unfinished, so it can be stained, treated with linseed oil to shine it up, left as it is, or if you'd like, we can finish your dish with oil for you (select above). These dishes measure 4” x 2.5” x 3/4” (10cm x 6cm x 2 cm). Soap residue can be cleaned off with a toothbrush if it starts to build up on your dish.
